The Story Behind Amelia Island Microgreens’ Latest Project

One of the most exciting things we’re working on is a Kickstarter campaign to empower pet owners to grow fresh, live produce for their reptiles in just a week. This project came from a need I saw in the reptile community—many people rely on store-bought vegetables for their pets, but those are often low in nutrients and may contain pesticides. Imagine trying to keep a tiny lizard healthy with food that isn’t fresh and could even be harmful!

That’s why we’re making it easier to grow your own microgreens, specifically for your reptiles. By growing microgreens at home, you’re not only ensuring a safer diet for your pet, but you’re also giving them the nutrient-packed freshness that store-bought just can’t deliver.

Growing Microgreens: My Personal Health Journey

Here’s a little-known fact about me: I started Amelia Island Microgreens out of my own journey to better health. When I was a kid, I faced a lot of health issues and found a world of difference in eating clean, fresh foods—especially microgreens!

I still remember my first thermography scan, which showed more inflammation than even the adults they’d seen. But after incorporating microgreens into my diet, my next scan was a different story. My inflammation had dropped drastically, and I felt like a new person. That’s why I’m so passionate about microgreens and helping others discover the difference they can make.

How Microgreens Can Change Your Pet’s Health

My love for microgreens isn’t just about health benefits for people—they’re amazing for reptiles too! I’ve seen how important it is for pets to have fresh, live produce. For example, my bearded dragon, Dart, has thrived on microgreens. Many pet owners face issues with store-bought veggies that can harm small animals, so we’re making it easier than ever to grow a nutritious, safe alternative right at home.
